Hi Majestic beings! It's The Majestic One and I'm back with another blog. I'm truly excited for this post because it's my 8th post!

For those who don't know, the number 8 is my favorite number! So, I'm doing something special...

This will be the FIRST mini series for the blog!! So make sure you tap in for the next part of this post.

Now that all the excitement is out the way, let's start healing! :)

Self Perception: Part 1

So, lets start by breaking down the meaning of the word perceive.

Perceive: Becoming aware or conscious of something. Come to realize or understanding.

This week and next week, we're going to be talking about the process of self understanding.

Lets dive in!

The older I get, the more I realize that how we perceive ourselves has a lot to do with self esteem, self compassion, and inevitably, our mental health.

The Positive V.S. The Negative

A positive sense of self perception can make a world of difference mentally. Lately, I've been saying "you're only as good as your mindset." We have to start creating a more positive mindset that is equipped with kindness, love, compassion and understanding not just for others but for ourselves as well.

Expressing kindness, love, compassion and understanding should always start by showing it to yourself first! Have you ever heard the quote "charity begins at home."? Everything (especially positive traits) begins with us which is why it is important for us to know ourselves on a deeper level.

Step One: Self-awareness

It is our personal duty as spiritual beings to become more self aware. When you begin to know yourself and except yourself, it becomes easier to love yourself enough to work on things you may lack. As humans, we ALL lack something in some way, shape, or form rather it be mentally, physically, spiritually, or emotionally. We all have toxic traits, bad coping mechanisms and vices however, self awareness helps us make better and more positive choices. This is when positive self perception comes in handy the most! When you have a more positive view of who you truly are, you treat yourself better and also begin to think more highly of yourself. As Brene Brown would say, "talk to yourself like someone you love." The more we begin to speak positivity over our lives, we'll gain more peace of mind. It is up to us to pour into ourselves because in all reality, the only person that is obligated to pour into us is ourselves.

My Personal Formula:

Positive Self Perception + Self Love + Self Awareness = A Peaceful Mindset

Your words have power, which is why you have to be mindful of everything you say and think to others and especially to yourself. It is highly important that we lead with love! When you lead with love, peace starts to become a mindset and a way of life. Love has to be implemented in our hearing, hearts, speech, and most importantly, our minds.

Homework Time!

This week, I challenge all my readers to speak and think highly of themselves everyday 2 to 3 times a day for the next week.

Helpful tools for this weeks "assignment":

- Affirmations. Can't come up this any of your own? Don't worry, I post them monthly! :)

- Journaling. Can't figure out what to write about? I post weekly journal entries!

- An accountability partner. Call your best-friend, your mentor, a loved one you can confide in or, myself. Email the blog at themajestic1blog@gmail.com OR dm me on Instagram & Twitter @moethemajestic.

Peace, Love & Blessings.
